e-Mails Not Getting Answered? Shhhh! Here’s Why…

July 15th, 2010

Let’s face it — none of us like to be ignored. But sending an e-mail to a colleague that commits even ONE of these four cardinal sins can mean the difference between a speedy reply … and that big e-mail receptacle bin in the sky. :-/
Here are four common reasons why YOUR mail could be going “the way of the spam”, and how to reverse them to get your messages answered — and answered *fast*:
1. “Can you hear me now? Durn! Can you hear me now? Frick! Can you hear me now? Cripes! Can you…?”
Follow-up e-mails are okay, and quite necessary during these times of overzealous spam filtering. But for the love of all things good and holy … please give your recipient a reasonable amount of time to answer the FIRST message FIRST!
If you haven’t waited *at least* 24 hours — particularly on a first contact — you haven’t waited long enough. People do have to take care of lives, and spouses, and hunger pangs, and bathing, and… (well okay, maybe not those last two if we’re in a REAL pinch ;) ).
2. Please, God … *NO* HTML!
It still boggles my mind how many people ignore this rule.
HTML mail comes to about *twice the size* of plain text mail with equal content. If your recipient can set their mail to skip downloading messages over a certain size, and that size is set low, your e-mail will be cut off in mid-message.
This means the recipient then has to make an extra effort to retrieve YOUR message from the server.
(Annoyance #1.)
And people who send HTML mail seem to always choose a bright blue(??!) hyperlink-colored font that’s WAY too tiny for the average eye to read. Umm…
WHY?!
Just about anything other than Courier New is GUARANTEED to be hard to read in some e-mail programs — and it’s usually blind luck that your recipient will HAVE one of those with this problem.
(Annoyance #2.)
And don’t even get me started on the odd “glow” blue text has when plopped on a white background … please?
3. “NO, Mommy! I don’t WANNA read an ezine!”
It’s inconsiderate to send ezine length e-mails to business people — period.
You’re almost guaranteeing that your mail won’t be fully read, or that you’ll get a half-a**ed reply, because the reader didn’t feel like wading through your verbosity to get to the goods.
“Ezine length” is generally about 9 kilobytes (9k) and above. You can usually tell how large an e-mail is before sending by checking its size in your mail program’s outbox. If not, for your reference, 9k is about 650 words. (Yeesh!)
Unless the recipient is *expecting* a long reply from you, 3k (200 words) is a good stopping point for a first contact.
NOTE: YES, this goes for personal e-mails too. Being “friends” with someone isn’t license to consistently disrespect their time with mammoth e-mails unless they send the same to you — consistently.
So, no saying the same thing 8 killion different ways, or using “flowery” language and “pretty” mental pictures to get your point across.
Just say it, say something else and for Heaven’s sake … KEEP IT MOVING.
4. Umm, seriously … is it really THAT important?
Ugh. Do I really need to explain this one? People who mark ALL of their messages High Priority remind me of the little dude who cried wolf, if you know what I mean.
When I consistently see these from the same people all the time, I start ignoring the priority and answering them LAST in a mail check, just to spite ‘em.
Granted, not everyone is as crazy as me and will do this. But at the very least, you’re still hurting your chances of getting a reply to *seriously* urgent messages quickly, by abusing priority markers.
??
I could go on. I won’t.
(Yet.)
I’ll save the rest for “Part 2.” Until then, clean up your e-mail act if you need to, and watch more of your e-mails not only get answered, but get answered faster — and lots more productively, too.
Commit the above shameful offenses at your own risk!

4 Steps To Unleashing Profits In Your Online Business

July 14th, 2010

Barry Gilbert

Ever wonder how the thousands of “under the radar” web businesses that earn well over $100,000/year (many with much higher sales) out of their own home do it?
Over the last year I’ve had the great fortune to speak with many of these true, hidden entrepreneurs at conferences, seminars, e.t.c.
What I’m about to share with you also came true for me, and is outlined in more detail in my Ultimate Information Entrepreneur’s Success Package
Here’s an example of their business model:
1. Information Products. Without a doubt, each one of the successes I know market their own infoproducts. For some, it’s an ebook. Others have special reports. Still others run online coaching programs, membership sites, paid newsletters, teleseminars, or produce digital audio or video products. It’s not their only source of income, but is a MAJOR source of income, and more important, brands them an expert in their field leading to success with #2 and #3 below.
2. Market related Affiliate Products. Again, in almost every case, these online success stories become experts at finding and creating joint venture deals with partners.
But, they work differently than most affiliates.
They start by ALWAYS reviewing the product they will market. Second, they look for a different way to present the product or service – a more beneficial way to show users the real benefit in the affiliate product. Third, they use the branding from #1 to negotiate higher commissions and focus on high commission programs only.
3. They monetize their traffic using Adsense or selling advertising on their sites. For high traffic pages where adding paid ads or Google’s Adsense will not impact their own sales, they will run ads to further monetize their sites.
4. Sell their time. You will find that truly successful people online LOVE to help people succeed. But…for every person who is really dedicated to succeeding there are 10 “tire kickers” who want someone to hand them success on a silver platter. It doesn’t work that way, nothing works that way. So, in order to leave time to help those who really want it, coaching programs are formed. Yes – you have to pay big money, but you should easily be able to get 10X the value for money spent.
So as you can see, there is no ONE single way to build your wealth online.
Instead, you build a diversified, rich and healthy business by focusing on these 4 pillars. Not only will you earn more money, but your business will be stronger and build momentum faster when you do.

7 Ways To Profit From Other Peoples Products

July 13th, 2010

Stuart Reid
1027

If you don’t possess the time, money or inclination to create your own hot selling product there is plenty of scope for profit by using other people’s.
In this quick article I’ll detail the best ways to take a third-party product and use it to fill your own bank account.
1. Resell Rights
Resell Rights let you sell a product and keep all of the money. It’s an ideal way to start. Usually you’ll need your own payment system to accept the money and your own webspace to sell it – but that’s very cheap to do these days.
Resell Rights can be free, or cost anywhere up to $1000 and beyond. The free Resell Rights are usually not worth bothering with. You want to sell items that have LIMITED distribution – quite simply because you’ll have less competition!
2. Master Resell Rights
Unfortunately these are bad news. With the Master Rights you can pass on Resell Rights yourself. This means one thing – thousands of competitors in a very short time.
3. Reprint Rights
These are sometimes confused with Resell Rights but they are usually used to describe hard-copy material. For example, printed books, tape sets, CD’s or Videos.
You usually have to handle the duplication yourself but sometimes the company will provide copies, and even ship them for you, for a small fee.
These products usually cost more to acquire the rights but can be very profitable. As the old saying goes, it’s easier to sell 10 copies at $1000 each than it is to sell 1000 at $10.
4. Affiliate Programs
When you enter into an affiliate agreement you are sharing the cost and effort of promoting a product. You will take a percentage of the sales in exchange, so you want at least 50% for it to be worth your while.
With an affiliate program you can usually join at no cost, but will make less money – and have more competitors!
One other advantage, the company provides the site and the collection of payments. All you do is promote and cash your check.
5. Drop Shipping
This makes the traditional form of selling easier for the information age. Profit = Cost – Selling Price , and with a Drop Shipper you merely take the money from your customer and tell the shipper to send them the product. You then pay the shipper their price. For example, you can buy a Widescreen TV for $1299 but you are selling it for $1499. You make $200 per sale but never get involved in the distribution at all.
This method is used extensively on eBay and in online shopping malls.
6. Joint Ventures
These blur the line between the other processors. Basically, you connect those who make products with those who sell and promote them. You can acquire resell rights, or create your own product, or be part of an affiliate network. You then contact possible sellers, for example Ezine Owners, who may be interested in selling the product for a cut of the profit.
This way you can connect BIG sellers with BIG products and slice of some of the profit for yourself!
7. Branding Rights
These can be combined with Resell Rights but sometimes are offered as an extra. With Branding Rights you can make some or all of the links within a product possible money-spinners for yourself.
For example, you can take a book on copywriting and give it away, or sell it. But within this book are other links to further services, all that could make extra back-end sales for you.
As you can see there are plenty of ways to make money WITHOUT the expense of time of building your own product!

6 Steps To Adsense Domination

July 12th, 2010

Keith Baxter
2024

When you make your living online, you realize the need for multiple streams of income.
One of the easiest and most lucrative ways to generate a secondary income, which also happens to be passive, is via Google’s Adsense program.
I’m sure you’ve read the claims of a few individuals generating five figure monthly incomes from Adsense. For many of you, I’m sure you are wondering why you aren’t making this same income yourself.
Well, wonder no more. If you follow my simple six step system, you will be well on your way to healthy Adsense profits within three months.
Are you ready? It’s now time to pay attention.
Step 1 ?Preparation.
The key to making money with Adsense is all about numbers. BIG numbers!
Sure, there are a few people making serious money with less than ten sites, but these are the exception.
Your goal will be twenty-four sites in three months. That’s just TWO sites per week!
In order to accomplish this, I recommend one of the many available page generation tools available today.
Step 2 ?Determine Your Markets.
In order to maximize Adsense income with only twenty-four sites, you must know which markets are paying well.
To break this down even further, you need to know which keywords within those markets are paying the most.
Step 3 ?Register you domains.
Once you’ve identified and chosen your markets, you must register domains appropriate to those markets. For example, if your market is ‘Cabbage Patch Dolls? a domain such as http://www.cabbage-patch-doll.com/ would be appropriate.
Step 4 ?Create your site.
Using your favorite page generation software and keyword list, it’s time to develop your site. There are several key points to bear in mind when you develop these specifically for Adsense.

Format ?Always use the large 336×280 large rectangle.
Border ?Match the same color as your background.
Background color – Border ?Match the same color as your background.
Link = “0000CC”
Color_url = “999999″
Color_text = “333333″
Position ?Far left or center and just above the page fold (Top 25% of site)

Step 5 ?Verify and track your site
Visit your site and make sure all links work and that the sites appear to your satisfaction. You should also check out the ads Google is displaying. Are they targeted to your primary high paying keyword? If not, recreate your site using your high paying keyword in a higher density throughout your site.
Make sure you track your Adsense format, position, and traffic with a tracking system specifically designed for Adsense. Once you know your stats, you can adjust for maximum clickthroughs and higher revenues.
Step 6 ?Get your site listed in the search engines.
This is simple?no tricks involved. Simply rent links to your site. A PR7 or PR8 link will do the job.
While I’ve simplified the process here, you are now armed with enough information and resources to make some serious money with Adsense.

7 Quick and Easy Ways To Multiply Your Sales

July 11th, 2010

Mohamed Rabea
983

There are always some great, fast and easy ways to multiply your sales without paying more for extra advertisements.
There are a lot of simple and effective ways that you can implement instantly to multiply your sales.
Here are 7 quick and easy ways for you to multiply your sales immediately.
1- After you sell your product, send your customers a freebie and include an ad on it. It could be a T-shirt, Mug, bumper stickers with your ad printed on it. This will let other people see your ads and order from you.
2- When you ship out your product, include a coupon for other products you sell. This is a good way to attract them to buy more products from you.
3- You could cross promote your product with other businesses’ products in a package deal. You can include an ad or flyer for other products you sell and have other businesses selling for you.
4- Sell the reprint/reproduction rights to your products. You could include an ad on or with the product for other products you sell. You could make sales for the reproduction rights and sales on the back end product.
5- When you sell your products allow your customers to join your affiliate program. So they will make commissions selling your own products. This way your sales will multiply.
6- Tell your customers if they refer few other customers to your website they will receive a full rebate of their purchase price. This way you will turn one sale to few more sales.
7- After you make your first sale, follow-up with your customers. It could be a “thank you” email and include your ad to other related products you sell. Also you can follow-up again every few weeks.
Once you implement those techniques you will notice a great jump in your sales. Also remember to use those ideas whenever you create or sell new products.

5 Questions to Discover The Perfect Home Based Business for YOU

July 10th, 2010

Gobala Krishnan
1908

Are you interested in starting your own home based business, but not sure where to begin? Why not start with yourself?
Here are a few steps you can take to determine what you really want to do. But first, have a pen and paper ready in front of you…
Done? Ok, here we go…
1) What Are Your Hobbies?
Write down all the things you love doing in your own free time. Don’t hold anything back, because I’m not here to examine your answer. There is no right or wrong here, only the truth, only what you feel straight from your heart.
Why do this? The answer is because hobbies are a great source of motivation and energy for anyone. If you’re willing to do something without being paid, you’d definately do it for money. The only difference is, money will only come second, as compared to the immediate satisfaction you get from doing what you love. Write everything on that pice of paper.
2) What Specialized Knowledge Do You Have?
In your current or past jobs, you would have accumulated a great deal of knowledge on a certain subject. Thanks to your boss, you may have become an expert at something. And this expertise, believe it or not, can help others around the world. Don’t let this go to waste.
So write down any specialized knowledge you have. Write down any specialized skills you may have developed too, and it could be in sales, event organization, public relations, accounting, counselling, etc.
3) What Corner of The Book Store Do You Go to First?
When I heard someone ask me that, I was like “What? What has that got to do with anything?”.
It has got to do with everything. Which corner of the bookstore you visit FIRST usually indicates which topics you love reading about. In a conversation with one of my team members a week ago, I asked him the same question, and his reply was “Well, Gobala, I never thought about it, but I actually go to the self-help section first, because I like reading about how I can improve myself to be a better human being.”
Ditto. Your sub-concious actions may hold the answer to your problem. Now we’re getting somewhere, so write YOUR favourite section down on that piece of paper.
4) What Did You Love Doing 5 Years Ago?
My life now is VERY different from what it was 5 years ago. How about yours? What did you love doing 5 years ago, but simply cannot find the time for it right now? Did you plan to start something new 5 years ago, but for some reason it never happened?
Our lives change all the time, but if there was something in your past that you’re still passionate about, write it down now.
5) What Are You Naturally Good At?
To answer this question, you MUST ask your friends, not yourself. Whatever you already know about yourself is not going to help. Only things you never knew you were good at are going to open doors to your own home based business. So go ahead, call 10 of your best friends, and ask them “What do think I’m good at?”
Make a mental note, or write all their opinions down on your piece of paper. The key to getting this right is to NEVER question or argue about their opinion of you. Take the good with the bad, take it all. By the time you’re done with number 10, I guarantee you’ll start discovering things about you that you never knew you were good at.
I found out that I’m good at teaching. I also found out that I can explain things in a simple way, and that I have patience when dealing with others. Trust me, I never knew that before I asked. It’s amazing what others know about you that you don’t know yourself.
The Road Becomes Clearer
When you’re done with your list of all the things you love, all the things you’ve become an expert at, and all the things you found out you’re naturally good at, have a good look at it. Does your dream home business seem a little more clear now? Do you see the begiining of an exciting journey, instead of an intimidating one?
You now have many ideas on what type of home based business you can do, and all you have to do is choose. Choose the one that you’re most excited about RIGHT NOW and are eager to start RIGHT NOW.
If you rushed through this article without the pen and paper, without taking notes and asking yourself these questions, then let me tell you the truth:
It takes YEARS to build a steady five or six figure income from your own home based business. You can’t do it in months, no matter what anyone else out there may say. The only way you’re going to get through the initial “make-or-break” years is if you’re doing something close to your heart. Something that will seem like fun, not hard work.
Seek the truth, for the truth shall set you free, and show you where you want to go. If you don’t know where you want to go, it’s no secret that you’ll never get there.

5 Simple and Easy Ways to Advertise Online

July 9th, 2010

Stephen Wright

Some people say that advertising is everything! Regardless if you have a product, a service, a hobby website or just want to share pictures of your wedding, you have to advertise somehow to get the traffic to your site or blog.
But not all traffic is equal. There are services that can help you drive tons and tons of traffic to your site and it won’t do you any good at all because it’s not targeted traffic.
Take for example all of the many different ’surf for traffic’ or ‘traffic clicking’ programs that are out there. If you have a website that is about your hobby, say model airplanes, then what good is this traffic really going to do you? Who’s using these services?
Webmasters and marketers that want traffic on their own site. So they most likely won’t spend any more time on your page than is required by the little timer these services use and then they are gone again. Even if your site is about these traffic services (this is about the only time you will see very much benefit from using such a tool) you will still have to spend a ton of time just surfing and clicking around to get a real benefit from these programs. Once marketers realized this they switched gears. They started promoting all the different programs to a lot of other marketers to get them in their downlines, so they could get some traffic as a bonus. This became their new focus. The problem is that everyone else did exactly the same thing, so not a lot of people were surfing the internet anymore.
Bottom-line is this. You need targeted traffic. So here are some tips on how you can generate exactly the traffic you need and bring the visitors you want to your website without having to chase after them.
1. Content
What is your website about? Do you just have a page with a lot of links and not much else?
If this is the case, think about adding some content to your website that will be of value to any potential visitors. You could write articles or find articles at one of the many directories that you can reprint on your site.
2. Talk about your experiences in your subject matter.
You don’t have to put up some kind of resume (although that can work too), but rather try writing about what you are doing, as it relates to your topic of choice. Let’s look at the model airplanes again briefly, you could talk or write about the latest plane type you built, how the last time flying your plane went, what challenges you run into or perhaps even post some pictures of your plane or of you flying it.
3. Forums and bulletin boards.
You could add a forum or bulletin board to your website where your visitors can interact with each other. There are a lot of free services available out there that you can use to either remotely host a forum for you, or even software you can install on your website’s server. To find some of these, just head over to your favorite search engine and you will definitely find plenty to choose from.
And while you are visiting the search engine, why not run a search for any bulletin boards and forums that are already out there for your chosen topic? You could visit those and interact with the visitors there and since many allow you to post a signature or a profile, you could add a little line about your own site with a link (just check the rules of the forum first so
you don’t violate any of them).
4. Start a blog.
Blogs are very popular and search engines love them because they provide constantly new and fresh content. Your blog would be a great place to talk about what you are up to that day. So if you spent some time today buying new parts for your plane you could write about where you found them, how much they cost you, why you chose those parts, anything really goes.
The really great part about this is that you can point links from your blog back to your website, so when the search engine stops by to grab and index your latest content, it will also stop by your website and you will start seeing very targeted traffic heading your way.
5. Write articles.
Writing articles isn’t hard and can be a great source of fresh, new traffic to your website. There are a lot of ezines on any topic out there and there are also a lot of directories where you can share your article.
Basically, what you do is write an article and then add a small resource box that links back to your website (just like a signature) and then let other ezine publishers know that you are allowing them to print your article in their ezine. And many publishers go to the article directories to find new content for their newsletter and even their websites. And since there are
websites and ezine newsletters on any imaginable topic out there, you can’t lose. Write an article every couple of days and post it in the directories (even one a week or every two weeks will start getting you traffic). Very soon you will find new traffic coming from search engines, newsletters and websites.
Best of all, these 5 simple tips will bring targeted traffic, meaning the visitors are coming to you because they are interested in what you wrote.
So there you have it. Whether you have a simple and basic Work at Home Business or a significant Internet Marketing enterprise you can benefit from these 5 easy and simple ways to advertise and drive traffic to your website at absolutely no cost.

5 Plus One Internet Marketing Strategies to Improve Article Quality to Increase Web Traffic

July 8th, 2010

Leanne Hoagland-Smith
2732

Writing quality articles is time consuming for the very best writers. First, finding the time to write is probably the first real challenge. Then securing a topic or something to write about is the next obstacle. Finally, wondering if all this effort as a small business owner is going to secure the desired marketing end result of increased web traffic to your web site is always present. After writing articles for the last four and a half months, I have developed some strategies to improve article quality and to increase traffic to my website.
Strategy #1 ?Set aside time every week to write and establish a goal for the number of articles that you will write during the week. I schedule time with myself to write. This is usually a several hours during the weekend and possibly a couple of hours each week depending upon my schedule. Currently, my weekly goal is 2 articles. With other writing commitments including my website, this sometimes is quite a stretch for me.
Strategy #2 ?Create an easy format that you can easily copy and paste your efforts into those sites where you regularly contribute. For me, I used Microsoft Word. Also, I included within my M.S. Word document beyond the actual article are the following: (1) A title that meets the site’s policies such as www.ezinearticls.com of 100 characters (2) Word Count (3) Copyright Statement (4) Bio or Signature statement that meets the character guidelines (1101 for Ezine Articles) (5) key words (100 characters for Ezine Articles) (6) A table for key words to be used within the article and as search words.
The table is probably the most beneficial element within this format. As I write the article, I plug in phrases that I believe have high key word value. The table can be easily copied and pasted into a new article with similar key words. These key words then can be prioritized from highest to lowest and used as the keywords within the article submission site. By using the highlight tool, I can quickly determine what words are used within the article’s content.
Strategy #3 ?Write from your own personal experience and avoid the royal “We.?People look to the Internet to find answers to their questions from people who have actual experiences. Share your failures and successes while you are demonstrating your expertise. Use the personal touch to begin to build a relationship and not to “sell?your product or service. Be real and respectful to each and every reader. Also include some humor if possible. Again, remember you want them to want more and click through to your website.
Strategy #4 ?When selecting the topic, determine the focus through researching the key word popularity. A site such as http://inventory.overture.com helps. Short articles also contribute to greater focus. If you have an exceptionally long article, break it into 2 or more shorter articles. I try to keep my articles between 400 and 800 words depending upon the topic or subject.
Strategy #5 ?After writing your article, review the content and begin to actively search for words or phrases that will increase the “hits?to your articles. Many times I believe I have an incredibly great title. By using a key word search, I can truly learn if the title is extraordinary or just plain ordinary. For example, in a recent article I had planned to use the phrase “bulls eye?in the title. As I am a very visual individual, this word conjured up an arrow hitting a target. Inventory overture revealed 3,190 searches for “bulls eye?while the word “target?had 1,814,599. My next action was to quickly change the title to maximize this key word.
In MS Word, under the Edit Button, you can scroll down to Find and enter each key word to determine if that word or phrase is included within your article. With Search Engine Optimization (SEO), using the right amount of key words is also important. An overload of key words is just as harmful as not enough key words. My strategy is to identify 20 top key words for every article and incorporate them at least one time and not more than three times into the article.
Strategy #5 Plus ?Upon completion of your article, find a colleague or friend and ask them for their opinion. I currently review many of efforts with two close friends. Suggestions are freely given and changes are made. The end result is always a much high quality of article.
Hopefully, these 5 plus one strategies will not only improve your Internet marketing through increased traffic to your web site, but will also improve the quality of your articles and potentially start to build those relationships with future customers or clients.

6 Steps On How To Install Confidence Into Your Clients

July 7th, 2010

What methods can we use to install confidence into your clients ?

Give abundant value in everything you sell.
If you want to build up a reputation that will lead to a successful internet business you can’t afford to outsmart your client by giving him less value then he’s paying for. Whether you are selling goods or services, give excellent value.
Know your business.
If those with whom you deal sense that you know your business they will have faith in your business judgement.
Tell the truth.
Show your clients they can depend on you. The most important qualities in a businessman are honesty, sincerity and unaffectedness. Everyone with whom you deal should know that any time you tell him something, he can depend on it.
Do such a good job that people will want to recommend you.
You have to convince the client that you are honest, sincere and capable of being of service to their friends. Each time you demonstrate these qualities in your business dealings, you make it easier to get profitable referrals.
Have your own standard of ethics and live up to it.
No one can really advise yu correctly on an ethical question, since each of us has his own, highly personal standards. But whatever those standards are, if you follow them, you will eventually be respected for them. Personaly I follow the Golden Rule : “Put yourself in the other fellow’s shoes.?Only when you follow the Golden Rule can you really hold the confidence of those with whom you deal.
Pay all your bills promptly.
Establish a credit rathing and keep it good. If someone wants to know whether or not he can trust you in a business deal, he may consult a company that tabulates and keeps credit ratings.
